Initial Adjustments
Assembling your new bike is one of the most exciting tasks ever, we agree. After completing the build all you want to do is go out and shred, but there are a few things you should think about prior to that.
INITIAL FIT
All bikes offer position adjustments on your main contact points and this plays an important part in how comfortable and confident you are when riding. This is more important for road bikes, where you tend to sit in the same position for long periods of time, but MTB riders would agree to say it’s quite important for them as well. A well dialled and properly fit bike will inspire more confidence in all riding conditions.
With that in mind we have created a quick guide to help you find the perfect position for your riding style. Please see more detailed information in this article.
TYRE PRESSURE
All of our bikes will come with pre-inflated tyres. However it is always beneficial to check your tyre pressure periodically, to ensure the bike will handle as desired. We would recommend checking and adjusting tyre pressure every other week or so, as they will naturally go down with time.
If you’d like more information regarding this subject and the effect that different tyre pressures will have on your ride, please refer to this article.
SUSPENSION SETUP
For all mountain bike riders out there, checking and adjusting your suspension air pressure is even more important than your tyre’s. This is critical for your bike's handling and will have a huge impact on how it responds to the trail aspects and the riders input.
For this reason, you can find more detailed information on how to properly set up your suspension in this article.
GEARS
Our bikes are checked by professional mechanics prior to dispatch and should come with properly adjusted gears. But in some cases it may require minor adjustments due to cable stretch or other handling or transportation factors.
We have created a simple how to guide on how to check and adjust your gears to ensure smooth shifting from day one. Please check this article to view the relevant content.
BRAKES
The brakes, as well as the gears, should be fine tuned when you receive your new bike. But to clarify any adjustment procedures required, we have compiled the step-by-step guides for correctly setting your disc brakes or your rim brakes.
CUSTOMIZING YOUR BIKE
We do not offer mechanical services in terms of parts replacement and upgrades prior to dispatch, but we can certainly help guide you through the process of choosing and purchasing the compatible desired components for your bike.
Please refer to this article for more detailed information.
And that’s it! By now you should have all the resources you need to go out on a more enjoyable first ride. Feel free to contact us in case you have any questions or concerns and happy riding!
